Thailand updates the New Alcohol Production Law B.E. 2568

Ministerial Regulation on Alcohol Production B.E. 2568 (issued under Section 153 of the Excise Tax Act B.E. 2560 and amended (No. 2) B.E. 2568, announced on June 5, 2568
Divides brewery licenses into 3 types
License Type 1 (original large brewery license)
- Has a factory license 4
- Has a sterilization process using a pasteurization tunnel
- Provides personnel knowledgeable in alcohol production as specified by the Director General to be stationed at the industry
- Has tools for analyzing the quality of alcohol water
- Complies with the law on promoting and maintaining national environmental quality
- Complies with public health laws
- Installs a system for printing government tax marks (Direct-coding)
- Provides a location within the alcohol production industry for excise officials
License Type 2
- Has a factory license 4 or has machinery or equipment for producing beer-type alcohol according to specified standards
- Has a sterilization process using pasteurization or other quality maintenance processes that use temperature-controlled transportation (Cold chain)
- Provides personnel knowledgeable in alcohol production as specified by the Director General to be stationed at the industry
- Has tools for analyzing the quality of alcohol water
- Complies with the law on promoting and maintaining national environmental quality
- Complies with public health laws
- Provides a location within the alcohol production industry for excise officials
License Type 3 (original Brewpub license)
- There are machines or equipment for producing beer according to the specified standards.
- Comply with the laws on promoting and maintaining national environmental quality.
- Comply with public health laws.
*Pack beer in kegs of 20 liters or more for sale outside the brewery.
